Amanda and Blake are one of the many couples that we have worked with that met online and one meeting with them and I could tell that they were kindred spirits and the perfect match. When Amanda reached out to us, they had already booked their venue and band, and realized that they wanted some guidance over the next six months so that no detail would be forgotten. This is our forte!
We set up monthly planning meetings to review their planning checklist and through wedding detail discussions over sangria at Barcocina, we were soon approaching their wedding day. It was a bitter cold day in January, but it was all smiles at the Public Hotel while both Amanda and Blake got ready. We love the blank white space at the Public Hotel, because it is a perfect backdrop for those special moment photos, which Olivia Leigh Photographie captured beautifully. Amanda’s dad giving her the thumbs up is priceless!
Amanda, Blake and their wedding party braved the frigid temperatures to grab photos with our iconic city architecture. If you’re getting married in Chicago, you make the sacrifice to capture these works of art. Speaking of which, we had Amanda & Blake run into the Art Institute of Chicago to have some private moments before we made our way to the Chicago History Museum.
Amanda had chosen a rich Winter color scheme of ivory, cream, burgundy, blush, sage and gold. This came through in all of the florals provided by Fleur and the paper goods provided by her future brother-in-law. It was a very elegant affair with just the right pops of color. Amanda & Blake brought in a few little elements to make their day unique – the specialty cocktail named after their adorable dog, Lucy, and the chocolate cake recipe from Amanda’s mom.
Guests enjoyed a meal of grilled petit tender of beef and herb crusted halibut from Blue Plate before hitting the dance floor with Front of House. Olivia was able to capture the love, the silliness, and the fabulous party that occurred in the celebration and I could not be happier for this beautiful couple. Congratulations, Amanda & Blake…and congrats on the arrival of your new son!
Note from the couple:
Blake and I are so appreciative of everything you did for us leading up to and during the wedding. Our wedding day, and more importantly the experience we and our family and friends had, would not have been possible without your organizational prowess, calming presence and overall planning rockstar-ness. We were truly able to relax and enjoy the day with you by our side – and we are forever grateful for that.
