Lauren launched LK Events in the summer of 2009, after ten years in the catering and event industry. While pursuing her hospitality degree at the University of Illinois, Lauren worked in sales and catering management. She began her professional career in Chicago at one of the premier catering companies, Food For Thought. Her years of coordinating weddings and corporate events inspired her to start her own company.

Her creative vision and impeccable attention to detail have led her to successfully coordinate flawless weddings and events. Lauren’s infectious enthusiasm makes the event planning process a truly enjoyable and relaxing experience for her clients. Lauren cherishes the relationships that she’s built with each and every couple; to this day she keeps in touch with many of her past clients.

When Lauren is not planning weddings, she is spending time with her husband Bryan, their son Jack and twin girls, Lucy and Ellie. She loves being an aunt to her nieces and nephews and is very fortunate to live so close to her family in Hinsdale. She is passionate about food and wine and loves to entertain family and friends. Lauren feels especially blessed to be doing what she adores most – planning weddings!

* Lauren lived in Budapest, Hungary as a child & studied abroad in Sydney, Australia.
* If Lauren wasn’t a wedding planner, she would be Carrie Underwood’s back-up singer or work in the Whole Foods Cheese department.
* When Lauren was little, she aspired to be a cleaning lady. She sanitizes everything to this day…and is never without antibacterial wipes.

Allison’s love of events is in her genes, as her mother was a corporate event planner in Washington, DC during her childhood. After spending years in the advertising industry in New York and Chicago, Allison had the opportunity to support events at Pandora Radio and realized that the events industry was her true passion. It wasn’t long before Allison decided to rethink her career in advertising and apply her skills of organization, client service, and problem solving to working with couples to plan their big day.

With a love for creating the perfect timeline that flows seamlessly from one detail to the next, Allison is dedicated to incorporating the small details and moments that make each wedding unique and reflective of the couple. She believes that the planning process should be fun, exhilarating, and collaborative. Her time spent as a collegiate rower has made her passionate about the ultimate team environment, which she brings to the table in her great relationships with industry professionals and, of course, her couples.

Allison loves living in Chicago, but is still a true Marylander at heart. When she is not planning events, you’re most likely to find Allison in West Town with her husband, David, and daughter, Nora. Otherwise, she’s most likely to be discussing [bad] reality TV with anyone who will listen.

* Allison has never had a fast food hamburger in her life, yet is not vegetarian.
* Allison has an irrational fear of birds, to which anyone who has walked down Michigan Ave with her can attest.
* The book Aquamarine, which inspired the young adult movie, is dedicated to Allison.

Allison DeKnight Young

Carolyn started her college days with the goal of becoming a geneticist. But a chance meeting with a career counselor led her to change her course of study at James Madison University to Hospitality & Tourism Management. After graduation she moved to Chicago with her eyes set on fulfilling her mantra of “making beautiful things, making things beautiful.” She would go on to spend the next 12 years in event work first in venue and catering, and then ten years were spent in décor sales and production for some of Chicago’s premier firms including Revel Décor and HMR Designs. During this time, she was integral to the design and production of hundreds of weddings and events which have all helped her build a vast understanding of Chicago’s top venues and vendors, and an innate understanding of the logistics of planning large scale celebrations.

Joining LK Events was the natural culmination of her years spent working directly with the LK team and combines her eye for thoughtful event design and attention to detail with her passion for fitting together all of the puzzle pieces of an event. Carolyn loves building relationships with her couples and their families and working alongside them to manage the creative and logistical process to create beautiful, personalized events that her couples are proud to host.

Carolyn resides in Chicago’s Lakeview neighborhood with her husband, Brian, and their daughter Sophia. When she isn’t planning events, you can find Carolyn at SoulCycle or Shred415, or at the park or pool with her daughter. She and her husband travel as often as possible and plan their destinations around incredible restaurants and opportunities for her to hone her photography skills.

Carolyn Flueckiger

Bridget began her career in corporate event planning in Washington DC. After moving to Chicago in 2010, she began planning fundraising events, receptions and galas for Citizens United for Research in Epilepsy (CURE) and later at Loyola University Chicago. She thrived in a small team environment, and developed close relationships with some of the top Chicago vendors, industry professionals and of course, the donors and committee members she served.

Bridget’s excitement for the planning process, her love for design, and desire to make each bride and groom truly enjoy every minute of their wedding planning process, make her an asset to the LK Events team! Bridget believes a successful event starts with good communication, finding a connection with each couple, and bringing their vision to life. She is committed to making every event personal, and a dream come true for her clients!

Although Bridget is a true east coaster at heart, she has called Chicago home for 8.5 years! When she isn’t planning events, Bridget loves spending time with her husband, Mark, daughter Sadie, and their giant puppy, Beau exploring Chicago and all the city has to offer! Bridget never misses an opportunity to entertain and finds true passion in being surrounded by those she loves the most! No event is too small to pick a theme, decorate and celebrate!

* With a love of interior design, she can often be found thinking up new furniture DIY projects or reorganizing every room in her house at least once a month.
* Bridget is a self-proclaimed “Sauvignon Blanc aficionado”, and argues those from the Marlborough region of New Zealand are the best. 
* Bridget is a reality TV junkie, and never misses a Bravo TV show. Personal favorites include RHOBH, RHONY and Southern Charm.

Andrea’s experience in events began in the corporate world. Shortly after graduating from Illinois State University, she moved back to Chicago and began planning events for a few different tech companies based locally, as well as in Seattle (her favorite city second to Chicago!)

Although she is grateful for the experience gained working corporate events, she knew she was meant for a more meaningful path. Andrea believes planning a couple’s most memorable milestone is both an honor and rewarding. She also believes the most important part of her job is building strong client relationships and connecting with couples in order to bring their vision to life. Her best asset is her dedication. Andrea will go above and beyond to ensure her clients have an unforgettable and stress-free planning experience.

Andrea and her husband currently live in Glen Ellyn and are awaiting the arrival of their first daughter. When not planning, you can find her at the gym, running through her neighborhood, trying out new restaurants or spending time with friends and family.

* Andrea would leave the Christmas tree up all year if it were socially acceptable.
* Andrea competed in fitness competitions for 5 consecutive years and to this day, doesn’t know how she ever maintained the discipline to not drink wine or eat chocolate.
* Andrea wishes she could become a Dancing With The Stars pro.

Born and raised in San Diego, CA, Jillian's career in event planning began in the corporate world after graduating from the University of California, Santa Barbara. She has planned and produced hundreds of events for clients ranging from large tech firms to small start-ups throughout North America. With a genuine passion for events and celebrations, Jillian has also used her planning skills to assist numerous charitable events throughout California and Chicago. 

Jillian's favorite part of any event is the time spent working with her clients to create a meaningful and truly memorable experience for them and their guests. Moving from the corporate world to the LK team was a natural transition as Jillian loves building lasting relationships with her clients. Jillian gets excited about diving into the details and believes with the proper logistical planning, anything is possible!

Jillian loves calling Chicago home and lives in Lincoln Park. When she’s not meeting with clients or drafting the perfect timeline, you can find her running on the lakefront path, or on a patio with friends and a glass of wine at one of Chicago's amazing local restaurants. 

* Jillian is an avid runner and has completed numerous marathons. Her goal is to become one of the Six Star finishers (running in all 6 of the World Major Marathons).
* Jillian is a self-proclaimed Bravoholic and has not missed an episode of RHONY, RHOC, or Vanderpump Rules.
* Jillian's favorite store in the world is Trader Joe's and will not be convinced otherwise.
