The tented courtyard at the historic Chicago Illuminating Company set the tone for an incredibly unique and warm wedding celebration for Maureen and Mike. The décor and styling aspect of planning for the wedding was especially fun for us, as Maureen works in the bridal attire industry at one of our favorite bridesmaids boutiques, Bella Bridesmaids! Her painted floral skirt and lace bodice gown from Monique Lhuillier was the launching point for the classic and timeless décor – but with an edge.
While Maureen conceptualized a unique mix of patterns, textures, and styles for her bridesmaids, we worked to bring the vision to life in the room décor. Erin and Laurie from Revel Décor were the perfect match for Maureen’s vision and took her home décor inspiration photos and transformed them into a wedding look that was equal parts romance, elegance with a modern urban edge. Mixing rich velvets with light and airy faille linens from BBJ, we continued the eclectic look from the attire into the tablescapes. The romantic all white florals mixed with some blue thistle and black and grey accents on the tables was the perfect way to highlight the tent in the courtyard!
Nancy Beale captured the emotion flawlessly and The Lakeshore Encores kept the party going after guests dined with Boka Catering Group. While they danced away, their friends and family were treated to some really fun personal touches to catch between songs. A pop-a-shot game as a nod to their love of basketball along with a skillet cookie station were the perfect touches to finish an incredible day.
