Some might say that Lesley and Bobby met by chance that fall day at the Badgers Football Game but with Bobby living in Chicago and Lesley in LA I would say it was actually fate that brought them together. They decided to get married in Chicago so more of their family members would be able to attend and Bobby proposing on the Terrace at the Trump Tower made it an easy choice for where they would host their reception.
Their wedding weekend started with their Rehearsal at Covenant Presbyterian Church followed by their Rehearsal Dinner at Del Frisco’s.
The day of the wedding the amazing ladies of Sonia Roselli got the girls picture perfect while the photographers from Studio This Is and the videographers from One Fine Day started documenting their wedding day.
Once boutonnieres were pinned and bouquets handed out we headed to Covenant Presbyterian Church making sure to keep Lesley tucked away so Bobby wouldn’t see her until she walked down the aisle with her dad. Lesley wore a full ball gown with a sweetheart neckline and the bottom of the dress was all hand sewn lace and of course a long train. Her bouquet was white peonies in various stages of bloom. The altar of the gorgeous church was decorated with a tall cylinder clear vase on each side with overflowing white hydrangea, white peonies, coral charm peonies and juliette peach garden roses. After Lesley and Bobby said I do they were off for photos around the city with their wedding party.
The amazing team from Fleur decorated the guest tables with arrangements of overflowing coral peonies, peach juliette garden roses, peachy pink ranunculus and a few white polo garden roses atop a clear glass cube vase. And then in two smaller clear glass cube vases were a collection of coral peonies and juliette garden roses.
Dan from The Gold Coast Orchestra introduced the newlyweds into their reception where they went straight into cutting their gorgeous cake from Cake. Their guests listened to toasts from Lesley’s dad, their siblings and Bobby’s Best Man while they dined on their Grilled Beef Tenderloin, Lemon Grass Poached Halibut and Roasted Vegetable Tian.
Lesley still had one more surprise for Bobby, which was a Groom’s Cake in the shape of his Wisconsin Badger Mascot. After dinner it was time for Lesley and Bobby’s thank you toast and their first dance along with Lesley’s dance with her Father and Bobby’s with his Mother. Then it was time for the dancing to begin. We did sneak them away for sunset photos on the terraces – with that view at sunset how could we not? Their guests were treated with some late night snacks among those of course were Chicago-style hot dogs and mini root beer ice cream floats.
It was such a beautiful and meaningful day with family as the focus. I feel so fortunate that Lesley and Bobby entrusted me with their wedding day. Wishing you two and Doug the dog a lifetime of happiness!!
