Winter Wonderland at Chicago History Museum, Emily & Kyle

When I first met Emily, she had a wonderful inspiration for her wedding at Chicago History Museum. With almost a year to plan this wedding, we met frequently to review her planning timeline and have me answer any questions and provide referrals for her team of event professionals. It is during those moments that a friendship blossomed and I was so honored to help her and Kyle plan the most perfect winter wonderland wedding.

Emily has an elegant sense of style and that came through in her choice of a wedding gown and the exquisite bridesmaid dresses. So divine! Emily and Kyle fell in love with Timothee & Bethany Tabailloux and this husband & wife duo thoughtfully chose items to include in detail photos and carefully orchestrated the stunning First Look on Ava Terrace at the Public Hotel. All of these photos are picture perfect. Emily loved the work from Stems and Allison did not disappoint in bringing Emily’s vision to life. From the second greenery bouquet that we could use outdoors, to the adorable chair wreaths, not one detail was missed in this beautiful winter design.

There are some weddings that seem to run like clockwork, and Emily and Kyle had that day. There was excitement during the hours of getting ready, but once the couple and their wedding party arrived at the Chicago History Museum, you could tell they were ready for a wonderful celebration. The excitement of the snow falling just added to the joy of the day. Emily & Kyle had a very thoughtful ceremony that included a reading from Scripture, an excerpt from Hamilton, and a quote they hold near and dear. I also loved that they chose to process into more traditional music and then used a contemporary piece for their recessional to bring the guests into cocktail hour.

Guests noshed on passed hors d’oeuvres of deviled eggs and spicy shrimp corn dogs and then enjoyed their meal of either braised beef short rib or Lake Superior trout, courtesy of Food For Thought. The treat from Elysia Root Cakes was a double chocolate and vanilla bean cake with chocolate fudge and salted caramel buttercream filling. Absolutely marvelous! Emily and Kyle spent the rest of the evening dancing the night away to the musical talents of Time Chicago…with only a small break to pose for the dazzling snowy night photo.

Congratulations, Emily & Kyle! I wish you all the happiness in the world!
