As we dig ourselves out of Winter Storm Linus, we are reminded of a stormy Saturday this past summer and Sara & David’s beautiful wedding at the Chicago Botanic Garden. As our team arrived at Renaissance Chicago North Shore, we were actively reviewing the weather reports to predict how the evening would play out. We had to make the call at 2pm on whether or not the Ceremony would be held outdoors and at that time we had too great a risk of thunderstorms, so we had the staff at Chicago Botanic Garden set up their indoor ceremony space.
This decision did not stop the smiles we saw while both Sara and David were getting ready. Cristina G Photography captured all of the details and special moments of their preparation. We then loaded David and his groomsmen onto the shuttle to Chicago Botanic Garden. Once they arrived, the shuttle came back for Sara and her bridesmaids. Cristina decided the English Walled Garden (the original ceremony location) would be the perfect location for Sara and David to have their First Look. How stunning and in love is this couple?!?
Thankfully the weather cooperated with us and Sara, David and their wedding party were able to walk around the gardens and capture some amazing moments. All too soon, guests began arriving and we were ready for Sara & David to walk down the aisle. They had a family friend officiate the ceremony and I loved that their readings were an excerpt from Anna Karenina and i carry your heart with me – beautiful reflections!! After recessing out to “Autumn from Four Seasons”, the guests remained in Krehbiel Gallery and were greeted with passed wine and Grape Lollipops, Chipotle Chicken and Citrus Glazed Shrimp.
Guests then made their way through the Gallery to McGinley Pavilion for the reception. With such a stunning view, guests enjoyed a wonderful evening of toasts and a dinner of Chicken Breast infused with Summer Truffle. The rain held off until dancing and between the beats from Leslie at Toast & Jam and rolls of thunder, the guests celebrated the happy couple. Congratulations, Sara & David!
