A Modern Wintery Affair at Morgan Manufacturing

I first started working with Nicole and Tim two years before their wedding day, just as they were finalizing a decision on their venue. They had narrowed their search down to their top two locations when they enlisted my help in guiding them down the right path, taking all of their priorities and budget parameters into account to make the final selection.

Most of my clients have grown accustomed to my overuse of analogies, so why would I hold back form including them in a wedding recap?! When Nicole came to me with the two venues they were considering, I asked them to take a step back from the visuals and think about the selection just as they would think of real estate (and for two brokers, it was the perfect analogy!). What are your visual and experiential priorities? I always ask that so I can guide them on an initial budget approach to be sure we are sure we aren’t overspending on the “house” and are unable to fill it with the visual/culinary/entertainment priorities that they hope to include. With that in mind, Morgan MFG was the perfect fit for their celebration, and we were off to the races on planning!

The joy of having two years to plan is that I selfishly get to know the families better and can continue to guide them down the right path…and sometimes push them a little outside of their normal road. This was the case when Nicole brought her initial décor ideas my way. I had gotten to know her so well over the year before we started design and knew that her personal style and home style were the key pillars in how to get her out of Pinterest land and into something really cutting edge and stylish. We enlisted the talented design hands of Exquisite Designs to bring a modern, glam, and classic affair to the industrial backdrop of Morgan MFG.

In the last quarter of our time planning is when things got really fun. Becca Kaufman from BKO brought some out of the box musical ideas to lift their guest experience perfectly (hello surprise cold sparklers!), and we designed a jaw dropping entry balloon arch for guests to revel under as they warmed up from being outside in December. Custom acrylic place cards that double as coasters were an excellent touch and brought Nicole’s true sense of entertaining and style literally to the table.

It was such a joy spending their extended engagement together and I could not have wished for a family with more style, ideas, and trust to work with. Since their wedding, it has been a JOY to see Nicole and her family continue to support and trust the vendor team we put together – BKO even provided a custom serenade for her mom’s birthday!

Tim and Nicole – I wish you many years of happiness in your new home and many excellent rounds on golf courses across the globe. Cheers to many pars and birdies in your future! (Tiger agrees 🙂 )

Allison
