Summer Love at Chicago History Museum, Juliana & Jake

Juliana and Jake first contacted us to have a two-hour consultation about their wedding because they live in Hong Kong and were planning their Chicago wedding from there. As with most couples, they had a number of questions on budget, etiquette, and the flow of the wedding day. We had a great Skype call to discuss all of their questions, and I could tell that they felt a little more comfortable with their decisions when our time had ended.

Fast forward 6 months and I received an email from Juliana and Jake asking me to be their wedding coordinator. YAY! I was so excited to help see them through their big day and let them enjoy every moment. So when their wedding day arrived, we joined Juliana and her bridesmaids at The Langham who were all brimming with excitement. This was our first time working with Jody Savage from MN and she was a true professional throughout the day. Aren’t these images just stunning?

I was so excited that Juliana had chosen to work with Kelly Marie from Fleur for her florals and decor. I think this wedding was aesthetically, one of the more gorgeous weddings we had worked on together in 2017. Fleur had us at the arch – oh my gosh!! It was the perfect backdrop at the Chicago History Museum for Juliana and Jake to exchange their vows. There was not a dry eye during the ceremony, as the couple was able to vocally express their love and devotion to one another with their personally written vows.

It was a beautiful July celebration and after the ceremony, guests continued to mingle outdoors noshing on bites from Blue Plate. Could you just die over the cute money cats holding down the escort cards? It was such a wonderful, and practical, way to display them outdoors. We then invited guests up the grand staircase into the Chicago Room for dinner. The Chicago Room is a classic, elegant space and Blue Plate, Fleur and Elysia Root Cakes provided all of the extra details to make this romantic celebration come to life. One of the details I loved the most was the custom crest that Elysia used from Juliana & Jake’s invitation to put on the cake – simply divine! Congratulations again to Juliana & Jake!

A note from the couple:

Thank you SO MUCH for everything. We truly felt like our day was perfect. The whole weekend was an amazing dream come true. We are off to honeymoon tonight so lots of packing but if I had all the hours in the world I would love to send a million page email emoting just every single thing we are so thankful for. Just so thrilled with the whole day and your amazing professionalism throughout.
