Adorable. Committed. Journey. Friends. These are the words I use to describe Adam & Phil and my experience in working with them in planning their wedding. When we first met, they were thinking of having their wedding in 5 months in the Chicago suburbs. We ended our wedding planning adventure a year later in Portland, ME. So amazing!
The weekend started with a welcome gathering at the Portland Regency Hotel for all family and friends that had arrived early. The next day Adam and Phil hosted a traditional Maine Lobster Bake. All guests boarded the Peak’s Island Ferry and enjoyed the culinary delights from The Maine Lobsterbake Company. I will never forget that New England Clam Chowder and all of those red lobsters!
Adam and Phil were a very calm couple and that is captured in the First Look photos from Kevin Weinstein Photography. He was able to show the beauty and history of Portland, along with this very dashing couple! After their walk around downtown Portland, Adam & Phil headed to First Parish for their long-awaited ceremony with family and friends.
Guests then made their way to The Portland Company for cocktails, dinner and dancing. Sarah from Watershed Floral really captured Adam & Phil’s vision in the décor and my two favorite elements were the wall of bud vases and then the white clay vases that Adam created for his wedding. They really were a work of art! Another piece of art was the custom menu that we worked on with Leslie at Aurora Provisions. She was able to meld Adam’s roots in Maine and Phil’s roots in Alabama to provide items like Lobster BLTs and Cajun Shrimp Pops – delicious! As guests finished dinner, DJ MelBee was on the 1’s and 2’s and no one was sitting down. Congratulations again to my friends (and new parents), Adam & Phil!
