Sara & John, SAIC Ballroom

It was such an honor to work with Sara and John in coordinating their wedding last Fall. This was a couple who has been together for 8 years and on their wedding day it was amazing to see the love they feel for one another. During their wedding day I caught them just looking at each other and you could tell they felt like they were the only two people in the room. It was amazing to witness that!

Sara and John had a specific vision for their wedding day – stress free and classic. When I first met with them they were beginning to stress out about the logistics of their wedding day. With most of their families coming to Chicago from out of town, they were really looking for someone to be an advocate for their families. Logistics is a forte of LK Events and we were easily able to work together to put their mind at ease.

When LK Events arrived at the Palmer House Hilton on their wedding day, we were amid the most calm wedding party that we had ever seen. Of course there was excitement for Sara and John, but this really was a group of family and friends that enjoyed being with each other. From their First Look to The First Dance, Colin Lyons captured all the details and amazing moments of the day. Sara and John had their first look at the Art Institute – aren’t they the cutest couple!?!

After the beautiful ceremony at Holy Family Church, everyone made their way to the School of the Art Institute Ballroom for the reception. Stems did a beautiful job bringing Sara and John’s vision to fruition and the room had a proper elegance about it. The tall candelabras were my favorite! Guests were treated to the culinary delights from Kenmare Catering, including a four-course meal featuring Halibut and Beef Tenderloin. After dinner, Sara, John, and all of their guests hit the dance floor with the Peter Hennes Orchestra. Many guests took advantage of the flip flops and sunglasses and stayed on the dance floor all night celebrating Sara and John’s wedding day! Congratulations again to Sara & John!
