Lauren launched LK Events in the summer of 2009, after ten years in the catering and event industry. While pursuing her hospitality degree at the University of Illinois, Lauren worked in sales and catering management. She began her professional career in Chicago at one of the premier catering companies, Food For Thought. Her years of coordinating weddings and corporate events inspired her to start her own company.
Her creative vision and impeccable attention to detail have led her to successfully coordinate flawless weddings and events. Lauren’s infectious enthusiasm makes the event planning process a truly enjoyable and relaxing experience for her clients. Lauren cherishes the relationships that she’s built with each and every couple; to this day she keeps in touch with all of her past brides.
When Lauren is not planning weddings, she is spending time with her husband Bryan, her son Jack and twin girls, Lucy and Ellie. She is passionate about food and wine and loves to entertain family and friends. She is in love with being an aunt to her nieces and nephews and is very fortunate to live so close to her family in Hinsdale. Lauren feels especially blessed to be doing what she adores most – planning weddings!
• Lauren lived in Budapest, Hungary as a child & studied abroad in Sydney, Australia.
• If Lauren wasn’t a wedding planner, she would be Carrie Underwood’s back-up singer or work in the Whole Foods Cheese department.
• When Lauren was little, she aspired to be a cleaning lady. She sanitizes everything to this day…and is never without antibacterial wipes.
Allison DeKnight Young - Senior Event Consultant
Allison DeKnight Young – Senior Event Coordinator
Allison’s love of events is in her genes, as her mother was a corporate event planner in Washington, DC during her childhood. After spending years in the advertising industry in New York and Chicago, Allison had the opportunity to support events at Pandora Radio and realized that the events industry was her true passion. Planning her own wedding provided Allison with so much energy and inspiration, she decided to rethink her career in advertising and apply her skills of organization, client service, and problem solving to working with couples to plan their big day.
With a love for design and anticipating the next trend, Allison is dedicated to incorporating the small details that make each wedding unique and reflective of the couple. She believes that the planning process should be fun, exhilarating, and collaborative and the event all about the couple's love, laughter, and family.
Allison loves living in Chicago, but is still a true Marylander at heart. When she is not planning, she is exploring Chicago from a different perspective, with her baby girl, Nora. Her time spent as a collegiate rower has made her passionate about the ultimate team environment, which she brings to the table in her great relationships with industry professionals and, of course, her couples.
• Allison has never had a fast food hamburger in her life, yet is not vegetarian.
• Allison has an irrational fear of birds, to which anyone who has walked down Michigan Ave with her can attest.
• The book Aquamarine, which inspired the young adult movie, is dedicated to Allison.
Bridget Warren - Senior Event Consultant
Bridget Warren – Senior Event Coordinator
Bridget began her career in corporate event planning in Washington DC. After moving to Chicago in 2010, she began planning fundraising events receptions and galas for Citizens United for Research in Epilepsy (CURE) and later at Loyola University Chicago. She thrived in a small team environment, and developed close relationships with some of the top Chicago vendors, industry professionals and of course, the donors and committee members she served.
While Bridget enjoys planning events of any kind, her true passion lies in coordinating weddings and special events! After planning her own wedding in 2015, she knew this was more than a passion, and decided to make it her career. Bridget’s excitement for the planning process, her love for design, close attention to detail, and desire to make each bride and groom truly enjoy every minute of their wedding planning process, make her an asset to the LK Events team! Bridget believes a successful event starts with good communication, finding a connection with each couple, and bringing their vision to life. She is committed to making every event personal and a dream come true for her clients!
Although Bridget is a true east coaster at heart, (and will always have Maryland pride), Chicago feels like home to her after 7 years of living in the Midwest, and she wouldn’t want to be anywhere else! When she isn’t planning events, Bridget loves spending time with her husband, Mark and new puppy Beau, exploring Chicago and all the city has to offer! Bridget never misses an opportunity to entertain and finds true passion in being surrounded by those she loves the most! No event is too small to pick a theme, decorate and celebrate!
• Bridget loves interior design, and can often be found thinking up new furniture DIY projects or reorganizing every room in her house at least once a month.
• Bridget is a self-proclaimed Sauvignon Blanc aficionado, and argues those from the Marlborough region of New Zealand are the best. She can’t wait to visit there one day soon to try them all!
• Bridget is a reality TV junkie, and never misses a Bravo TV show- no matter how terrible!
Lara Tumer - Senior Event Consultant
Lara Tumer – Senior Event Consultant
Lara’s love for event planning started as a teenager, working with boutique catering companies in private Long Island homes. While earning her undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan, Lara continued planning special events in Ann Arbor as part of the university’s catering team. After graduation, she worked in advertising for MillerCoors Media at Draft FCB, which provided a wealth of experience in budget, project, and timeline management.
After planning her own nuptials in 2012 and falling in love with the process, Lara became the Events and Marketing Coordinator at Ivy Room, one of Chicago's premiere wedding venues. She took part in over 150 weddings and had the opportunity to work side by side with the LK Events team. Lara deeply values her client relationships and loves connecting with couples while bringing their visions to life. She has tremendous stamina and creativity, and works tirelessly to perfect every bit of detail to make her clients’ dreams come true.
Lara currently lives in Chicago’s Lakeview neighborhood with her husband, who is a physician at Northwestern. She balances her free time between teaching fitness classes at The Barre Code, cooking up gourmet meals, agonizing over her Fantasy Football team, and exploring all the nooks and crannies the city of Chicago has to offer.
• Lara is fanatic about red wine and pizza and chooses not to discriminate between New York pies, and Chicago deep dish.
• Lara is terrified of roller coasters and once cried as an adult at Six Flags after losing a bet.
• Lara’s spirit animal is Monica Geller.
