A Langham Love Story, Kim & Kurt

I’m not sure where to begin with Kim and Kurt. They are two of the hardest working and kindest people I know. They are extremely intelligent and completely in love with each other. When I get to work with couples like them, my job is not even a job, because I just want to be around them and talk for hours. I had the most fun planning their wedding.

Kim and Kurt booked The Langham before hiring me and it was the perfect setting for their celebration. They both got ready at the hotel and Kim was the epitome of the sophisticated bride, with Kurt as the dapper gentlemen that he is. I loved how Chad from Husar Photography captured the absolute joy between the two of them during their First Look. The photos of Kim and Kurt around Chicago look like they just stepped out of a magazine!

Kim and Kurt chose to have their friend officiate their ceremony, with Kurt’s four children playing a role during the ceremony. It was an intimate gathering and I was so grateful to have witnessed their profession of love. Kim chose to keep the décor for the ceremony minimal so that guests could focus on the view of Chicago from the ballroom windows. It is one of a kind!

Guests enjoyed cocktail hour while we flipped the ballroom and then we invited them all back in for an intimate dinner party. Kim and Kurt are foodies and loved the idea of their reception being like a 5-star restaurant dining experience with their closest friends and family members. The Langham provided an exquisite menu of an Iceberg Wedge Salad and a choice entrée of Grass-Fed New York Strip or Organic Salmon. Elysia Root Cakes provided the lovely wedding cake with a nod to The Langham’s signature pink color. Guests enjoyed the two flavors of lemon cake with blueberry and raspberry filling and an almond cake with lavender honey and salted caramel filling. The ambiance of the room was perfection with DJ Harsh providing the background music to keep guests entertained, and Exquisite Designs had the perfect amount of floral to highlight each table and not take away from the intimate dinner party experience.

It was a perfect celebration for this beautiful couple. Congratulations, Kim and Kurt!

Note from the couple:

Nicole was recommended to us by Allison at The Langham.   As soon as we met with her we knew we would enjoy working with her and felt we were in good hands.  We were not disappointed!!! Both my new bride and myself own our own businesses and split our time between Chicago and Atlanta.  So we needed someone with strong organizational skills as well as someone that can execute.  Nicole is all of that and more. Her responsiveness, demeanor, attention to detail, and desire to make a great experience for us was perfect.  She was genuinely invested in us and expressed itself in everything she did for us – that was remarkable.

All the vendors she suggested for us were fantastic – we could not have begun to deal with trying to pick out photographers, florists, wedding cake designer, stationery, etc.   She also helped so much with all the other myriad of decisions we had to deal with.  So thankful for that!!

We loved working with Nicole and could not have imagined working with anyone else.  She truly is amazing at what she does.  Thank you, Nicole for helping make our wedding day so special!
